I designed and implemented the software for the below projects.
Most projects were primarly written in
Erlang was developed
by Ericsson telecommuncations. IBM
has a bit to say about Erlang, also.
-
Secure over-the-Internet machine communication and data exchange
for soft
real-time information needs.
This project required database, XML, network routing, security, DNS, custom software, and
other skills and knowledge interfacing three different company systems securely.
-
Research & Development machine for paper industry. Written in C++.
The project goal was to create a machine which could more rapidly create
programs for a
jacquard loom which wove fourdrinier cloth
. This cloth was used in the manufacturing of paper. We designed and built a punch machine which received program input
via a personal computer and punched DIN
standard wide (approx. 25 cm or 50 cm) plasticized paper tapes for the loom. My primary responsibility was designing and implementing the
software which controlled paper position and punched the program. We were
able to create programs over fifty times faster than their previous
programming/punch machine. This allowed more rapid turnaround in the R&D lab to perfect the fourdrinier
cloth. Customer bought two more machines (one to go to Sweden, one to China)
after receiving the first machine and seeing how well it worked.
-
Voice and caller information collection and presentation; used for improving
marketing campaigns. This project included secure B2B XML
communication and a high availability backend software engine (reliablility
was better than the telecoms company providing IVR services).
-
Distributed Intrusion Detection system to detect and block
attacks. Detects and blocks multiple threats. Each server in the protected
hive will communicate to repel attacks from any system considered a threat.
This occurs as soon as any single server is threatened. Each member of the
hive may be on a single LAN or distributed around the world on different
networks (e.g. on the Internet). This is Open Source software.
